Most people have a love/hate relationship with insurances (they hate paying for the insurance but love what it covers when in need).
Although it sucks paying for something that the majority of travellers wont use, it’s one of those situations that it’s better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it.
There’s a bucket load of comparison sites out there that cater to all insurance needs. The more sports/activities you plan to do, the more your insurance is going to end up costing (winter sports like skiing or snowboarding are a classic example of this). Always prepare for the worse, although you may only intend on spending two weeks lounging on the beach, plan for the days where you start to get itchy feet and venture off (if you partake in activities that you are not insured for, your insurance WILL NOT pay any costs as a result of said activity).
In all, insurance is a small price to pay for something that could end up costing you a fortune in the long run.
