We at Planet Wolf are great believers in doing our up-most to give back to those in need. We regularly raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity organisation dedicated to providing care, services and research for teenagers and young adults battling against cancer. Our adventures (which are fully funded by our own pocket) allow us to raise money for this incredible cause…

UPDATE: Dumball Rally 2018

Between now and September 2018, you’ll see various updates of fundraising events/activities being taken part by Glen Wolfenden (Planet Wolf/HeatLoad), Dave Wolfenden (HeatLoad) and Mat Bacon (ARC:MC) in the lead up to Dumball 2018: Nothing Compares to EU! Where we will drive from Brighton to Corfu over the course of 8 days, covering approximately 2067 miles and visiting 11 European countries.

Read below for the official description of the Dumball event and how you can get involved:

As you may have heard, next year we are returning to Europe as it may be our last chance to dump a bunch of British cars in a faraway EU country – while it’s still legal.

Great. What are you talking about?

We’ll tell you what we are talking about. 10 days and 9 nights of limitless fun, behind the wheel of a banger that you’ve lovingly designed and customised for the job. 12 countries, some of the world’s greatest roads, and the odd party that you’ll never forget (even if you’d rather you did sometimes).

Sounds amazing but I need more info than that.

So you’re a stickler for detail? Well how’s about this: On Friday 14th September 2018, the Dumball will be making a long awaited return to Brighton sea front, where our cavalcade of fancy dress mayhem will bring the seaside town to a standstill once more. You put together a team of 2-4 people. You buy a banger for less than £500. You turn up – and we do the rest. From Brighton we drive in convoy to Corfu, Greece. We take the Eurotunnel under the channel to Calais, cross the Alps, swing by Venice, drive through Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania and finally on Friday 21th we board the ferry to our island paradise. On Saturday the 22nd we have a huge party, a glittering awards dinner, and on Sunday the 23rd we ditch our wheels, say goodbye… and cry. To see the route in detail click here.

Wow. That is a whole lot of fun. What’s the deal then Guv’nor?

The deal is this. You pay £625 per person. In return you get 9 nights accommodation in 3-5 star hotels. Breakfast, plus the odd dinner here and there is included. We provide stickers to adorn your car, t-shirts, loan of a radio so you can communicate with your fellow dumballers, plus the chance to win a monkey that is carved out of a coconut. A bloody coconut.

Right sign me up – this sounds like the greatest way to spend 10 days I’ve ever heard of.

Not so fast. There is a catch. In return for this amazing opportunity, you and your team mates promise to pledge to raise £1000 each for the Teenage Cancer Trust. The TCT is transforming the lives of youngsters with cancer, and it’s a cause very close to our hearts. If you do your bit (it’s not hard) – then we will guarantee you a week you will never forget.

Places on the 2018 Dumball are strictly limited. Grab this opportunity while you can. We will endeavour to approve your application within 7 days (we’re all volunteers at HQ, you know), at which point you will need to pay in full to confirm your place (credit cards accepted).

UPDATE: Tough Mudder 2017

“On September 24th 2017, I completed the Tough Mudder obstacle course in the Crawley area (also known as London South) in just over two and half hours. I overcome a gruelling 10 mile run through thick mud, dense forestry and struggled over the towering obstacles between me and the finish line.

For those who are unaware of Tough Mudder, it’s an endurance event that tests the participants mental and physical capabilities. Over the course of 10-12 miles, participants will face obstacles that’ll test your ability to work as a team with complete strangers and friends alike. You’ll be fully submerged in the squelching mud, covered from your head to your toes in a cake of dirt.

Oh and did I mention the icing on the cake for spectators entertainment? Participant’s last obstacle is to sprint through a jungle of dangling electrified cables that’ll shock the runner.

You’ll endure the most spectacular experience, exhilarating work-out and included in a team orientated community at this incredible event. Most participants use Tough Mudder as a channel to raise money for various charities, Planet Wolf is no exception. We raised over £500 (counted on 24/9/17) for our chosen charity, Teenage Cancer Trust.
